Giving

We want to firstly thank you if you are already a contributor to Molesworth Presbyterian Church. Without your freewill offerings (FWO) and contributions to the United Appeal and other mission outreach, much of what we do would not be possible. The annual report of the Church details how this money is utilised and the costs that need to be regularly covered. There is however much more that we, as a church, would like to do.

Envelope Giving

Traditionally, giving to church has been through weekly FWO envelopes, and if this mechanism of giving works for you then nothing needs to change. We appreciate though that some members are unable to attend church regularly, due to ill health or lack of mobility, but may wish to contribute to church life. It is our intention therefore to expand the range of ways to give to the Church by introducing a Direct Debit option for members. There is however no obligation to change to this method – we want you to choose what works best for you!

Direct Giving

Using a Direct Giving mandate allows you to budget effectively and also means that you do not have to worry about finding money on the way out to church every Sunday! It is also under your full control and can be stopped at any time by simply notifying your bank.

As collections will still be lifted every Sunday, and we don’t want anyone to feel any embarrassment about not putting something on the plate even though they are paying by Direct Debit, you will still receive FWO envelopes, which will have a “Direct Giving” box on the front. This box can be ticked and put into the collection plate, or the envelope can be used for additional contributions if you wish. Please note that if you do not yet have a FWO number at Molesworth, we must first allocate you a number. Please email the treasurer at
molesworthfinance@hotmail.com.

If you would like to sign up to regular giving by Direct Giving, please complete the relevant attached form (either FWO or Building Fund) and take to your bank to setup. Please ensure you make the reference on the transfer your current FWO number.

Cheque

If you would like to give a special donation to church or to any specific organisation, you can also give by cheque. Any cheque can be made payable to ‘Molesworth Presbyterian Church’. Either place this on the collection plate during Sunday offering or post it to: Mr Gareth Cuddy, 22 Ballynakilly Road, Sandholes, Cookstown, Co. Tyrone, BT80 9BX.

Gift Aid Declaration

Whichever way you choose to give to Molesworth, it is extremely beneficial if you can complete the attached GIFT AID DECLARATION if you are a UK tax payer. This allows the Church to claim an additional 25% on anything you give. Even if you have completed a gift aid declaration before, we would appreciate if you could sign the attached form and return it. This will facilitate us in keeping everyone’s details up to date. We really appreciate your time in completing a Gift Aid declaration.

If you have any queries about giving to Molesworth, please do not hesitate to contact us and we’ll do everything we can to help.

2 Corinthians 9:7
Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
